If there is a specific event you would like to attend, try checking the website of the theatre, museum or other venue. They often offer direct online sales of tickets and you can purchase them before your trip to Madrid.

How can I get to the city from the airport?

There are various ways to travel between the airport and the city centre:

Travelling by shuttle bus, on the Airport Express service, costs €5. The journey takes 40 minutes and the bus runs with a minimum frequency of every 15 to 23 minutes between 6am and 11.30pm and every 35 minutes from 11.30pm to 6am. 

Zone A tourist travel pass: includes all Metro lines in Zone A (Madrid city centre), the Airport, all city bus lines (except the Airport Express shuttle bus), Renfe Cercanias commuter trains zone 0 and A, and Metro Ligero loght rain train ML1. For More Information on the Tourist Pass.

Metro Line 8 runs from Nuevos Ministerios station, in central Madrid, to all the airport terminals in approximately 12-15 minutes. single ticket to Metro Zone A+airport supplement cost 5 €.

Line C1 of Renfe Cercanias runs from terminal 4 of Adolfo suarez Madrid Barajas Airport to several stations in the city centre. The frequency is every 30 minutes and the price of the one-way ticket is 2,60 €.
