Descripción:

Located in the heart of the neighbourhood of Argüelles and designed in 1931 by Secundino Zuazo, this residential block was commissioned and funded by the Banco Hispano Colonial. The building was an early phase of Castro's plan to expand Madrid.

Casa de Las Flores is a prototypical Rationalist residential building with 288 homes, designed around three courtyards.

All of the homes are outward-facing, bright and airy, with a prevailing hygienic style common to the avant-garde architecture of the period. The corner on Calle Princesa has balconies with planters that give the building its name. Pablo Neruda lived in the building when he arrived in Madrid in 1934.
