Table with two cups of hot chocolate, a plate of churros and a plate of porras, and in the background, out of focus, two tables on the terrace of the Chocolatería San Ginés in the Plazuela de San Ginés.
San Ginés chocolate café, near Puerta del Sol in one of Madrid's oldest alleyways, started trading in 1894, making it one of the oldest cafés of its kind in the city. The attractive wood interior, harking back to late 19th century cafés, has been a meeting place for all kinds of people, including intellectuals and many artists.
