A couple looking at the books in a stall in Cuesta de Moyano
Next to the Botanical Gardens is a street commonly known as Cuesta de Moyano (Moyano Hill), which is home to a permanent used book fair.
The fair dates back to 1925, when it was first set up along this pedestrian walkway. In those days it was a line of stalls roughly 15 metres long, with barely any modern conveniences. The stalls have been remodelled over the years, but their original appearance has been preserved.
In recent years Calle de Claudio Moyano has undergone remodelling works, including pedestrianisation and the creation of a cycling lane.
Crowning the hill is a statue of the famous Spanish writer Pío Baroja.
