El Rastro, which dates back to medieval times, is one of Spain's most iconic street markets and one of the oldest in Madrid. Located in the La Latina district, in the area around Calle Ribera de Curtidores and with Plaza de Cascorro as its nerve centre, this flea market boasts over 1,000 stalls and opens on Sundays and public holidays. Here you can pick up all kinds of items, including crafts, clothes and accessories, kitchenware, second-hand records and magazines, the list goes on.
