Cibeles Fountain, built in 1782 and standing since 1985 in the centre of the square it's named after, shows Roman goddess Cybele on a carriage pulled by lions. The piece also includes two water spouts that supplied water to the city up until 1862. The fountain is also an iconic spot for football fans, as championship tournaments won by local team Real Madrid and the Spanish national football team are celebrated here.
