In recent years Madrid has become a favourite destination among the LGBTI crowd, not only because it’s a first-class destination for tourism and culture, but also because it’s fun, friendly and tolerant, and diversity is one of its hallmarks. This is apparent in Madrid’s Pride Festival, the LGBTI community's most important global event, which is concentrated mainly around the neighbourhood of Chueca and features a broad programme of cultural and leisure activities.
