Descripción:
This monument in front of Cibeles Palace was created by architect Carlos Rubio Carvajal to commemorate all of the victims of the Covid-19 pandemic. It consists of a circular black steel censer containing a flame that will always be kept burning and a plaque that reads: “Vuestra llama nunca se apagará en nuestro corazón” (Your flame will never go out in our hearts). Unveiled on 15 May 2020 during the San Isidro festivities, the sculpture will be a permanent tribute to the lives lost to the disease.
