The National Archaeological Museum, based in a 19th century Neo-Classic building, contains one of the world's leading archaeological collections, taking a journey from pre-historic times to the 19th century through artefacts and art from various Mediterranean cultures. Outstanding items include the Lady of Elche, the Guarrazar treasure, the Pyxis of Zamora and a collection of Greek vases.
