Sculpture of a bear dedicated to the city of Berlin in Madrid
Berlin Park, a charming park whose borders are formed by the streets Ramón y Cajal, Marcenado and San Ernesto, has been home since November 1990 to remnants of the Berlin Wall. In it you’ll find attractive ornamental fountains, wide spaces, children’s play areas, and extensive swathes of bushes and trees. There is also a monument to the German composer Ludwig von Beethoven, whose bust presides over a sculpture of a piano in granite from Quintana de la Serena, a bear that represents the city of Berlin, and a small auditorium. The main fountain, which has three sections of the Berlin Wall presiding over it and located in front of the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, in the lowest area of the park, is dedicated to the fall of the Berlin Wall.
