After remodelling works lasting two and a half years, this central square in Madrid has been restored to its former glory and has become a hub for the city’s tourists as a greener, more sustainable and accessible space designed with pedestrians in mind. Located at the end of Gran Vía avenue, its pedestrianisation has provided a walkable route that links up to key, previously unconnected public spaces in the vicinity: Plaza de Oriente, Sabatini Gardens, Campo del Moro Park and Madrid Río Park.
