Descripción:
Plaza de Oriente Gardens, originally planned by José Bonaparte, are opposite the Royal Palace and underwent major redevelopment work back in 1997 under the supervision of Miguel de Oriol. The gardens are arranged in geometric patterns that highlight the front of the Royal Palace. The centrepiece is an equestrian statue of King Felipe IV accompanied by a collection of statues of Spanish monarchs that were originally meant to stand on top of the Royal Palace.
