Façade of Cervecería Alemana
This German Alehouse was founded in 1904 by a group of German industrialists exclusively for the consumption of beer. An essential stop if you’re passing through Plaza de Santa Ana, in the city’s Literary Quarter. Its interior has remained practically unchanged since it first opened, with only its Prussian fireplace and the large Bavarian mirror that used to hang on its wall having disappeared. A truly classic bar, it was recognised in 1980 by the city’s Chamber of Commerce as a Traditional Establishment of Madrid.
