Prayer room of the Islamic Cultural Centre of Madrid
Considered to be the largest Islamic cultural institution in Spain, this centre was inaugurated on 21 September 1992. Since then, it has become the house of Islam in Madrid, visited by thousands of Muslims and non-Muslims, attracted by the uniqueness of its minaret (one of the two that exist in Madrid). It is popularly known as the M-30 Mosque, because it is located just beside the city’s ring road of that name. Its interior is inspired by that of the Alhambra in Granada, and its façade is decorated with marble from Almería.
